Private Pilot Test / Checkride

Has anyone out there taken a private pilot checkride (test) lately?  I have one coming up and I was wondering what sort of information is asked on these checkrides.  I searched around the internet and was able to find one website with some good information Private-pilot-license.com  They have several pages of information about the private pilot license.  Their site said that there is a written test first, followed by an oral test and then a flight test.  You must pass all three to get your license.  I wonder if some examiners are more difficult than others.  Is there any way to find out about the examiners before the test?
