According to a report at MSNBC.com a new jedi mind trick was tried at this summer’s Star Wars Celebration V, a 4 day Star Wars convention held in Orlando Florida.
With all the fanfare of the costume contests and other Star Wars themed panel discussions, a new event was tried this year, a speed dating session. While dressed as their favorite Star Wars character, 260 fans took their stab at meeting fellow fans in 3 minute sessions.
There were 2 speed dating events, and they were each so popular that a third impromptu session was made. Speed dating for heterosexual and homosexual fans were held according to the report.
