A new online video news and documentary network is called The Real News. The organization is viewer supported and has no advertising according to the company website at therealnews.com. It was launched in 2007 by Paul Jay who worked with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a producer. It covers the big news events and debates the issues that may be associated with the stories. The journalist committee includes former editor of Harper’s Magazine Lewis Lapham, controversial American author Gore Vidal, Harvard educated broadcast journalist Amy Goodman and Boston Universityprofessor Howard Zinn. It also features regular political analysts and volunteer based citizen journalism.
